»Rockport Center for the Arts

Rockport Center for the Arts has been in the making for a very long time. The art and talent in the city has influenced and inspired the center’s existence so that there is a confluence of artistic support for artists in the area. Finally in 1890, the center was set up in its present location, and since then artists have been coming here to learn, share and meet with other artists. The center is now a well-facilitated center and has a number of events like workshops, classes and other gatherings of visual arts and others. The center is also facilitated with a kiln for pottery workshops. Film festivals, photography exhibits, performing arts events and more also find a stage here. They also organize a number of children’s workshops to engage children of all ages. A lovely sculpture garden set up at the back of the building is a must see. The center also has a gift shop where you can buy pieces of art made at these events and workshops. For more information, do check their website.
