Frederick Seventh-Day Adventist Church was formed in 1912 by a small group of people that initially met for Sabbath services and Bible studies in homes. The colonial-style church structure was built in 1995, before which the congregation met at different venues. The church today has a following of 750 members and is still growing fast. The church has various programs for community service like the Soup Kitchen to feed the homeless and volunteering programs at various shelters. Members of the church have also been involved with projects of the Red Cross and other organisations. Apart from that, it has regular cultural and educational events that keep the members connected to the church.
Asbury United Methodist Church is one of the oldest African-American churches in Frederick. It was built in 1818 by William Hammond. The present church was built in 1921, and the congregation shifted from the nearby Old Hill Church to this place. Its name was also changed from the Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church to the Asbury United Methodist Church. Today, the church holds a considerable influence over a large community and invites more members through events and programs.
Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ, on Church Street in Downtown Frederick, offers a space where the community can come together and learn more about God. The Frederick Armory is located in Frederick, Maryland. It was established for the Maryland National Guard in the early 1900s. John B. Hamme and Lloyd C. Culler were the architects of this building that finds inspiration in medieval fortifications. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 25, 1985.
Grace United Church of Christ is a protestant church that belongs to the United Church of Christ.
