Love The Talking Heads? Same As It Ever Was does it right. This 7-piece outfit of Knoxville musicians came together out of their mutual love and respect for the music of the Talking Heads in the summer of 2004 and have not looked back since.
When Single Mothers formed in 2009, the London, Ontario-based band set out to create loud catchy music and has since evolved into a punk rock/post hardcore outfit. With fast rhythm guitar, melodic lead guitar, raunchy lyrics and a punk rock ethic, the band released its debut EP, Wild Party, in 2010 followed by its 2011 effort, the S/T EP.
Celebrated as one of the funniest musicals to grace Broadway in recent years, The Book of Mormon is a religious satire musical written by the Trey Park and Matt Stone, the creators of the famed animated South Park television series (1997-). The story follows two mismatched Mormon missionaries as they haphazardly attempt to bring Mormonism to the tribal peoples of Uganda, with hilarious and often enlightening results. The musical opened in 2011 and almost immediately gained the acclaim of critics and audiences who felt that The Book of Mormon achieves the trifecta of great music, plot and choreography that is found in all Broadway classics.
