Skeletonwitch is an American metal outfit based out of Athens, Ohio. Formed in 2003, the four-piece group has since firmly established itself within the extreme metal community with its heavy hybrid of thrash and blackened death metal. In 2008, Skeletonwitch was asked to be a part of Blackest of the Black, a tour founded by Glen Danzig, the former Misfits singer. Being a part of such a high-profile tour paid dividends for the band, as its 2009 album, Breathing the Fire, landed at #151 on the Billboard Top 200 chart upon its debut. Despite the relatively new success however, Skeletonwitch hasn't compromised its relentless style in the slightest.

Woods is a four-piece band based out of Brooklyn that was formed in 2005 by Jeremy Earl, singer/songwriter and owner of the independent record label Woodsist. Blending lo-fi garage rock with rootsy folk and California sunshine pop, the band doesn't fall strictly into one genre but still manages to have a distinct and cohesive sound. While Woods is generally regarded as a lo-fi band, its ability to incorporate thoughtful harmonies and other more polished elements has set it apart from the throngs of other purveyors of lo-fi and has garnered the band a more diverse fan base.

Atlanta-based outfit The Coathangers formed one night as a joke, playing an impromptu set at a house party and calling themselves The Coathangers as an intentionally vulgar reference to early abortions. After the performance, the band was asked to open for The Hiss and suddenly became a serious endeavor. However, as demonstrated by song names like "Shut the Fuck Up," "Haterade" and "Nestle in my Boobies," the four-piece group held onto much of its initial absurdity. The band's vulgarity has come off as charming to many, and coupled with the a catchy lo-fi riot grrrl sound, The Coathangers has found an audience among the indie rock scene.
